Audience Research

Audience research seeks to understand both current and potential audiences. Through audience research, institutions can understand some of the bigger questions about their visitors including:

  1. Who is your audience?
When you seek to learn more about who your audience is, you can get to know some basic demographics about who is visiting which can support better marketing materials and stronger outcomes for visitors.

  2. Why are they visiting?
Knowing the motivations for a visit helps the project team create experiences that meet those expectations while they are there.

  3. When do they visit?
Understanding general visit patterns supports decisions that help the organization’s bottom line. Teams can make evidence-based decisions about when to open and when to hold programming.

  4. Where do they visit from?Knowing where your visitors are coming from allows the organization to better support visitors during their stay.
