We are a women-owned small business with decades of experience in the museum and informal learning field.
HEIDI KARTCHNER
Director
Ms. Kartchner has been with Oberg Research since 2009 and has been the organization’s director since 2016. She has a degree in Sociocultural Anthropology and is certified to conduct social and behavioral research with human subjects, along with over 15 years of experience conducting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative research in museum settings with visitors. She is passionate about free-choice learning in museums and cultural site settings. She is skilled at leading projects, managing teams, and conducting qualitative and quantitative research for public engagement projects. Ms. Kartchner is based in Denver, Colorado.
TAMMY MESSICK CHERRY
Senior Researcher
Ms. Cherry has worked in the field of Visitor Studies since 2009. She specializes in working with museums and informal learning organizations using qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand the learning outcomes of their programs, exhibits, and websites for their visitors. She taught the Museum Education Evaluation Course at The George Washington University in 2017 collaborating with NMNH on the student-led evaluation for the Deep Time exhibit and enjoys leading project teams in logic modeling and outcomes planning sessions. She also has experience working on various visitor-based projects as an independent consultant and as a Research Associate at the Institute for Learning Innovation. Ms. Cherry is based in Alexandria, Virginia.
ANNA NEUMILLER
Research Associate
Ms. Neumiller graduated with her Master’s in Instructional Psychology and Technology in April 2023. She has previous experience as a museum education content development specialist and as an instructional designer at the university level. As a recent graduate, she is knowledgeable in current and relevant best practices and educational strategies within the learning community. She has completed Human Subjects Research training as well as the Protections of Minors course through the Smithsonian. Ms. Neumiller is based in the DC Metro area at the end of 2023.
AMY JUDSON
Research Associate
Ms. Judson has worked with Oberg Research since January 2022 where she conducts quantitative and qualitative research, data collection, analysis, and report writing for clients such as the National Air and Space Museum. She has a Master’s degree in Political Management from The George Washington University with an emphasis on polling and is certified to conduct social and behavioral research with human subjects. She specializes in quantitative and qualitative research and analysis. Ms. Judson is based in Alexandria, Virginia.
LAUREN MILLARD
Research Associate
Ms. Millard studied sociology and has experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods. She specializes in data collection and analysis. She has completed Human Subjects Research training in addition to her Protection of Minors Training through the Smithsonian. Ms. Millard is based in Alexandria, Virginia.
JAIME DAVIS
Digital Marketing Specialist
Ms. Davis studied Interdisciplinary Humanities with an emphasis in Art History. She worked at the Museum of Peoples and Cultures creating digital and printed content for exhibitions, marketing, and educational programs. Her experience in the field of humanities informs her work for Oberg Research. Ms. Davis is based in Bend, Oregon.
